Classical Conditioning Theory
The theory was proposed by Ivan Pavlov (A Russian Scientist) to work digestive system
Published the experiment in 1897.
3-Awarded with noble prize in 1904.
He is well known for classical conditioning theory where he trained a dog to salivate with the ringing bell .
<The idea behind the experiment :-
No body trains a dog to salivate but still they salivate when they see food. (It’s a natural occurring process)
He kept a hungry dog in the lab and offered him meat in different time intervals.
Whenever dog saw the meat,it started to salivate.
Later on, he started offering meat to dog with the ring of a bell.
He kept on repeating the process till the time when dog got trained in the process called as Conditioning in the experiment
Two Types of Stimulus :-
Unconditioned stimulus :-
The unconditioned stimulus is the object or event that originally produces the unconditioned. Natural reponse/reaction.
For example: Ball
Food
Conditioned stimulus :-
The conditioned stimulus is like a neutral stimulus that has no response till the time it gets associated with the unconditioned stimulus eventually comes to trigger a conditioned response .
Ball(CS) + Food (UCS)
●Combine and then conditioned response.
